There are a number of reasons which have contributed to the increased popularity of law as a degree to pursue. Some of these reasons are discussed below.

Increased career chances

In the past, there weren’t enough career chances in the specialisation of law, and hence students didn’t want to take up law. Every student wants to take up a course that would help them in the long run and would help them secure a good job. Another frequent reason why the law wasn’t taken up for mainly due to the societal stigma. With the norms of society, the law wasn’t considered as a great degree as compared to science and medicine. People believed in taking up science-related courses or those who had drug involved, and the law was neglected. People wanted to take up the courses which were frequent in the industry and hence they didn’t prefer law thinking it is not a good course to take up.

Better legal framework

With the passage of time, the legal setup has improved in the world. Nowadays, the legal system is stronger than it used to be in the past and hence increased people want to study law. There are increased laws and lawsuits being filled, which have risen the number of job chances in the law specialisation. This has overall risen the interest of people in the law area, and increased people want to study law.

With time, the interest of people in the law specialisation has risen drastically. This is having good impact. Diversity is always very important for society, and hence it is necessary to have people belonging to the different specialisation of life. Having people of only one specialisation produces several negatives also as increased people began to run for the same kind of job which results in lesser jobs in the market and increased fight for the jobs. Hence, when we have people belonging to different specialisations, we have increased jobs to offer, and this keeps a balance in our society. By having people from all walks of life, we are able to have a diverse society which is a healthy society also.

If we want to have a balanced society, we need to encourage our students to study what they like, and they have the passion in rather than following the same path what they have seen others following. Having people pursuing their specialisation of interest help them perform better, and it is again beneficial for society. When a person works in a specialisation which is desirable to him, his performance is better, and he delivers a good output. Hence, we need to ensure that people study what they like, so this will help them with better delivery and ensure that our society is able to take advantage of their knowledge.
